About Inner Parkside Neighborhood

Inner Parkside is a low-key, family-friendly neighborhood comprised of mostly beautifully maintained single-family homes built during the 1940s.

The Parkside is a neighborhood in the western part of San Francisco, California, usually considered to be part of the Sunset District. It is located in the southern part of the Avenues south of Quintara and north of Sloat Boulevard.

Also referred to as the "Parkside District," the neighborhood includes the following parks: Parkside Square, Pine Lake, Pine Lake Park (a.k.a. Dog Park), Concert Meadow, Charlie Sava Pool (formerly Carl Larsen Pool), Carl Larsen Park, Stern Grove, McCoppin Park, and McCoppin Square.

History of Inner Parkside Neighborhood

It is the smaller of the Parkside District's two sub-districts. Outer Parkside is the other sub-district. The area between Golden Gate Park and the Pacific Ocean is known as Inner Parkside. Lincoln Way, Arguello Boulevard, Fulton Street, and Ocean Avenue form its boundaries. Mark Twain, Joe DiMaggio, George Lucas, Robin Williams, and Clint Eastwood are just a few of the notable persons who have called the area home over the years. .

Inner Parkside is a San Francisco neighborhood. Inner Parkside has a population of 3,254 people, with 47 percent men and 53 percent females with a median age of 46. Families with children make up 27% of the neighborhood, followed by single-female families (22%), single-male families (12%), and couples (66%).

Transportation in Inner Parkside Neighborhood

The Muni Metro's L Taraval line serves the neighborhood and gives access to downtown. The 29 Sunset, 48 Quintara-24th Street, 66 Quintara, and 18 46th Avenue are some of the other bus lines.

Politics in Inner Parkside Neighborhood

Many young professionals and retirees live in Parkside and residents tend to be liberal.

Lifestyle in Inner Parkside Neighborhood

Parkside inhabitants, like those in other western San Francisco neighborhoods, have lots of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and appreciate the city's natural beauty. Locals enjoy wandering through Pine Lake Park and attending free summer concerts held beneath the eucalyptus trees at the adjacent Sigmund Stern Grove. A short bus ride away are Golden Gate Park and the Presidio, both of which provide a variety of outdoor activities.

Schools in Inner Parkside Neighborhood

Diane Feinstein Elementary and Lincoln High School are two of the Parkside's top-performing public schools. Saint Ignatius, one of the greatest parochial high schools in the state, is also located in Parkside. Parkside is a good area for families with children of all ages because of its proximity to great parks, the San Francisco Zoo, and excellent schools.

Real estate in Inner Parkside Neighborhood

Except for the business sector on Taraval Street, the area is largely residential. Its buildings are mostly identical "cookie-cutter" stucco houses with diverse decorative aspects that were built in the 1920s and 1930s, when assembly-line techniques were introduced into building construction.
